Torrey C. Harris
A Champion for Memphis serving Tennessee House District 91 — he doesn't simply represent this community; he is of it.
Representative Torrey C. Harris serves Tennessee House District 91 — South Memphis, Midtown, the University & Medical Districts, Soulsville, Whitehaven, and the neighborhoods in between, from Orange Mound, Alcy-Ball, Glenview, and Magnolia-Castalia to Central Gardens and Cooper-Young.
In 2020, his neighbors elected him with 77% of the vote. When his district was redrawn, he ran again in 2022 and was returned to the House without opposition.
Off the House floor, Torrey serves in the heart of District 91 as Chief Officer of Corporate, Foundations and Major Gifts at LeMoyne-Owen College, pouring back into the same community that raised him. He is an entrepreneur and small-business owner, a devoted mentor, and a familiar face across Memphis and the nation.
He is Board Chair Emeritus of CHOICES, and a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the NAACP, the Memphis Urban League, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, and a labor-union member of the American Federation of Teachers.
